ALERT  PROGRAM

 

WHO?

Children 8 years and above with sensory processing difficulties, attention problems, problems with alertness or distractibility issues. Children younger then 8 years of age can benefit from the programs concepts being adapted.

WHAT?

A sensory / cognitive based curriculum designed to teach steps for self-regulation awareness. Children not only learn to monitor their level of alertness, but also improve in self-esteem and self-confidence.

 

WHEN?

The ALERT program can be implemented during regular therapy sessions, or scheduled independently of each other. The program is designed to be completed in 8 - 10 session.

 

WHERE?

The Occupational Therapy department provides this service at both Weisgarber and Farragut locations. The program generally involves a visit to the child’s school and an additional time to meet with their teacher and parents.
